Situated at the foot of the Sudety Moutains, upon the Odra River and cut through by its numerous tributaries and canals, it is an exceptional city of 12 islands and 112 bridges.

Dubbed 'the Meeting Place' of Poland, Wroclaw can certainly claim to be one of the nation's most forward looking cities. A thriving business and cultural hub, this small town hosts more than its fair share of international events - the big one on the horizon being Euro 2012. But you don't need a special occasion to pay Wroclaw a visit. Quite apart from its spectacular Market Square, towering churches and leafy parks, Wroclaw is full of charming surprises. Where else could you hope to find one of the world's few panoramic paintings, a Japanese Garden, and an army of gnomes...?
